Adjuster
[definition]
What does Adjuster mean?

In terms of insurance business, an adjuster is a claims agent or claims adjuster who makes thorough examinations and establishes the company’s liability. An adjuster most of the times works for completing a fair and just relationship between insurer and policy holder.

Adjuster explained

Given the fact there are more types of claims adjusters, it is important to familiarize with the task of each of them. The staff adjuster is usually the one who works at the insurance company; hence it is employed by it and makes examinations and settles details and property damage claims for the insurance company. The same is done by an independent claims adjuster, with the difference that he is not am employee of the insurance company, but instead he can represent and work for more than just one single insurance company. Thirdly, the public adjusters are the ones defending the rights of the policy holder, who usually also employs them for conducting the work.
