Accelerated Death Benefit - ADB
[definition]
What does Accelerated Death Benefit mean?

Accelerated Death Benefit is a stipulation of a life insurance which understates that in case an irreversible illness occurs, the policy holder can benefit from a certain sum of money. The cash received from ADB will then be redirected towards medication and other such needs.

Accelerated Death Benefit Explained

This provision of a life insurance works in the benefit of a terminally ill person, who given the circumstances would not have ways to procure resources for his/her everyday care. Accelerated Death Benefit came to light in the period when AIDS was ravaging among people, and this stipulation certainly came in order to financially support these persons. It is a stipulation which is not always displayed as being part of the policy, although it can be made active upon request.
